News

When? Wednesday 9th March

Time?  6.15pm to 7.00pm

Cost?   Free

Where? Good Physio corner of Jetty Road and Rose Street Glenelg, entry off Rose Street. (It’s underneath Anytime Fitness and across from Krush Hair and Beauty.

This workshop will be a 45minute session with question time so come along and learn more about why we stretch and the benefits in keeping ourselves in better shape with up to date stretching and flexibility techniques with leading Physiotherapist Tristan Chai from Good Physio Glenelg.

All family and Friends are welcome to attend this free workshop.

Tristan has over 10 years of experience as a physiotherapist. He specialises in sports and fitness, having spent the majority of his career working with elite athletes under Steve Saunders (now Head of Medical at North Melbourne Kangaroos).

Tristan has spent time with both the Kangaroos and the Adelaide Crows developing his philosophies and techniques for injury prevention and rehabilitation. He now applies them when working with all his clients.

Good Physio is not sales focused.

Tristan has worked hard to come up with a brand that restores people’s faith in the physiotherapy industry; what should be good old fashioned one-on-one manual therapy. He believes in spending extra time where needed, using effective manual therapies. and encouraging his clients to use an active approach where possible, to help with injuries and chronic pain rather than rest and taking it slow. He has even carefully designed the treatment rooms to reflect healing rather than the traditional ‘clinical’ feel.

Tristan is also one of a few physiotherapists to have completed a Masters in Acupuncture, making him an industry leader in dry needling. He also offers cupping, scraping and other massage-based techniques to deal in different ways with muscle tension and pain.

Please indicate if you are coming and with numbers also so we can arrange required seating.

Free Dietician Session for anyone interested.

Glenelg Boot Camp and Glenelg Runners will hold a free dietician session at our Major Sponsor the Watermark Hotel  Wednesday evening 27th January at 6.30pm in the conference room next to buffet area (just ask staff).

This will be conducted by Max Routledge a leading Sports Performance Nutritionist with AFL club Port Power.

This is open for all members, family and friends and will be a 30 minute overview and an informative session aimed at fine tuning our diet in relation to exercise and the best strategies to work toward better life long nutrition and guide us toward ideal health going forward.

There is no quick fix with diet, it comes down to our regular choices with eating habits and knowing more about what is good for you and what you probably need to avoid.

There will be open questions during and after the evening and for those that would like to have dinner we can order food about 7.15pm or have a nice healthy cleansing ale or wine, apparently wine is good for digestion and beer is a form of carbohydrate perfect for runners and Boot Campers.

If you learn even just one tip that evening, then it is going to be beneficial in the long term.

Max is also available for consults with the general public and his details will be available on the night.

NEW SPONSOR

Trudi Gameau of Mortgage Choice Malvern have come on as a new sponsor of Run For Your Life

If you are wanting good advice regarding home loans or thinking of switching banks, then Mortgage Choice can show you where the best deals are and help you restructure your existing loan or set up a new loan with the best available rates and can save you thousands over the life of your loan.

I have always used a broker because of this and the great thing is that it is free!

Changes to investment lending...

Recent changes to investment lending may see your lender increase the interest rate on your current investment loan.

It’s been a bumper year for property investment, with 37% of new property loans being accounted for by investors.***

In a bid to hose down speculative property investment and help property price growth settle to more sustainable levels, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), has set new expectations in relation to investment lending.

Australian lenders have begun to tighten their investment loan criteria following guidelines released by APRA, which oversees the activities of banks, credit unions and building societies.

Lenders have responded to these new guidelines in a number of ways. Some have removed or reduced interest rate discounts for investors while others have lowered their loan to valuation ratios, meaning investors will need a bigger deposit.

Many of the major lenders are set to increase the interest rates on their investment loans, which means your current investment loan interest rate may increase.

If you are keen to find out more about how this might impact your loan, or your investment plans, just give Trudi Gameau a call on 0410 646 692 or drop into the office at 309 Unley Road, Malvern. I'll be happy to take you through the changes and your options.
